Hi all,

I'm working in Maya 2010, and ran into this issue where the right side of this model is transparent. The right side is a mirrored instance of the left side.

Looking at it from a different angle shows the texture.

I bought this model, and plan to tweak it to my needs, but this transparency thing is rather annoying. When I render it, it does look the way its supposed to, without the transparent side. Its just in the editor that it appears messed up.

If anyone has any insight into this I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Raffi

Well if it renders as you'd expect then it's just a display issue in the viewport. Does the problem exist in both default and high quality rendering (viewport setting)?

Is there an option in maya to show direction of normals?Check it because there is a possibility the normals on the half are truly inverted, and you cant see it transparent in the render because the material might be two sided.

I also know that in max the hardware viewport normal map renderer might give different results from machine to machine.
In the last two versions the normal maps display funny in the viewport more often than in 2008-9.
