when baking to texture with mental ray it seems to ignore the portal light color which comes from the physical sky!
does anyone know a workaround? why is that so?
Sounds like its related to a common bake problem, the environment from the normal render camera doesn't get exported when baking.
So you could probably solve the issue by manually hooking up the sky to environment in the light portal shader.
