Hi,

I am trying to create a cut-out from a spline done in AI.
I have created a plane with lots of polygons and trying to get a clean cut from the shape I have done so the topolagy will still be a grid base.

I have tried using pro-cutter but it seems to change the topology which is not what I need,
I also tried to extrude the spline shape and added tessellate with no luck

any ideas wold be great.

if you move the spline to Maya and make the surface planner it will do the trick.
Still looking for a way to that in max

You won't get clean results like that. I'd take your AI spline and extrude it to give the stencil's inside wall and then work outwards from there.
