I really need this, just bought a new LCD monitor ....I'm looking for something to turn my PC to a TV, I would like to watch TV,recording and play PS2.
Do you think it's better to go with those USB TV tuner?
Any recommend? Thank you for your time

Internal is your best bet to ensure maximum quality. I have not researched TV tuners enough to recomend one.

USB ones would suck up processor cycles like nobody's business. I have a Hauppauge WinTV card which causes Windows 2000 to reset a lot (their drivers are shitty) but works fine under Linux. Can't say anything more than that.

yeah i use the WinTV too, but i havent had any problems with it. it works great, it even comes with a remote and you can listen to the radio on it. when i first got all the components to my computer i was considering one of the All-in-wonder graphics cards but they arent that good graphics wise so i just got the tv tuner seperate.

Hmmm, maybe I'll try again when I re-install from scratch.

I have the AverTV Studio, which allows you to do any thing you want to do and has alot of I/O's. But I don't like the software, especially the scheduler program it is really terrible. If you want to set up a "TiVo" type of thing you better make sure you have plenty of HDD space and even better would be to have a seperate partition for recording only. With the best quality selected for recording an hour cost about 1.4G's.

Ive been running a hauppage internal pci wintv card for a while under w2k and xp for a while with no probs. Make sure you get the lastest drivers though, their old ones cause mucho damage. I use a program called DScaler which deinterlaces the images very well.

Thank you all....I did order a KWorld from NewEgg. It's comming next week. Hopefully I'll be able to play and watch on my new LCD monitor soon
