Good day!

Hope someone can help me out. Our compositor is askin if I can export my camera and animation from maya. and he would import it to Fusion. I know its possible. I've been tryng to export with FBX format. thou when its imported to Fusion it doesnt show/ recognise the geometry that came with it. Thou it regonises the camera.

What is the proper way to export geometry and camera from Maya to import to Fusion???

Thanks in advance to those who can help.

fusion is so nice to let you do it in several ways

fbx is a great solution. how did you import the fbx in fusion? did you use the file->import->FBX option or the "fbx mesh 3d" node?
if you use the file->import method the fusion rebuilds the 3d scene represented in the fbx file
if you import it with the fbx mesh 3d node then fusion asks you which object to import
you can also load an animation into the camera as fbx

other methods are: bake your camera in maya and export it as .ma file, use that in fusion in the 3d camera under "import camera"
if your objects are static the you can always import them via .obj
for animated objects there is also a way to load obj sequences into fusion
