hello

i'm trying to get nice sharp caustics in vray. however, area lights don't seem to get very good results; i can only get good-looking caustics using spot lights. i don't want to use spot lights for general lighting.

so... is there a way to make a "caustics only" light like you would in mental ray? or are there just better settings i could use for a vray area light to make it cast nice sharp caustics?

nevermind-- just using the maya setting to turn off "emit diffuse" and "emit specular" does the trick.
