View Full Version : [animation] inflating a model... is it possible ?

Hello !! :)

i'm trying to simulate the inflation of a model, like it is a sort of shaped ballon.

The first problem is that the model start small and i would like it to grow from the "opening" (where air is inserted) and not all the way from the center. I suppose this could be resolved moving the pivot.

Another thing if would like to implement is "progressive" inflation: the front part got shaped first, then the back. Suggestions ?
 (i don't care about realism, i'm trying to achieve a toon-like feel).

(think a ballon shaped like this : http://www.1st-gift-delivery.com/new-york-400/EHIMF.jpg)

thanks in advance!

endomorph will do the trick...just keep the opening in the same place and rework the rest of the model from there.

Normal Displacement using the Morphmap option will give the amount of control you need for the "progressive" morphing. It'll let you apply a certain amount of morphing to specific parts using textures.
