Hello everyone,

My name is Kevin Eckert, and I am a recent graduate at Full Sail University. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could take a look at my final reel and tell me what you think. Any questions, comments, and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

Hey Caboose0

A very good reel to start with. The scorpion is very detailed, you do a good presentation of its features. The spawn deformation tests are also very neat.Did you use driven keys/morph deforms or another approach for those?

What I am missing is some facial rigging stuff, though. The turtle face stuff is very short and just about the last thing on the reel. Depending on what your future employer is asking for, you might add a short turtle face animation test.

Apart from that, good work ;)

I would also consider showing not just your animation controls but the actual underlying skeleton aswell. I was looking at your shoulder deformations on the spawn shot which looked very nice but I wondered if they were just down to lots and lots of bones or if you used a few bones and some blendshapes etc etc.

I loved the scorpion Rig. It Seems you are good with Mechanical Rigs.

I am not so happy With Deformation of body. May be you can work more to maintain volume on different part of the body.. I am not sure but I felt body's Arm are too short .. Not in proportion.

Yaps Face Rigging.. Missing.

But Best part is scorpion Great Rig...

I hope this will Help.

All the best

Dave

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll definitely see if I can show off some more facial stuff, and displaying the joints along with the controls should be easy. The deformations in Spawn were done with just weighting, I didn't have to use any blendshapes/morph targets at all.

Then show off the fact that your Spawn deformations are just bone deformations. Shows good clean handwork and a solid understanding of the basics of rigging/skinning.

I thought they were morphed/tuned BTW.

Cheers

Chris
