View Full Version : Please critique my flow

Hi,

I'm practicing my modeling skills and am a little unsure of how to get the best polygon flow around the mouth of my character.

I have two different versions of my character and would love it if you could critique the flow that I have around the mouth. Here are my thoughts:

In the first picture, the mesh does not look very neat, but I think it is important to have a ring of polygons making a loop around the mouth.

In the second picture, the mesh is neater, but does not have the ring of polygons around the mouth.

Which do you think is better for getting good deformation?

The third picture shows what my character looks like :)

Thanks so much for your help!

If it's for animation I would say the first one is the better.

Thanks for the reply. In the first pic, do you think I need to clean up the flow? Do you have suggestions on how I can do it? I'm still a bit new to the idea of spin-quads, so I'm experimenting now.

Thanks again!
