National Portfolio Day (http://www.portfolioday.net/) is around the corner, depending on where you live within the U.S. I can't recommend an event more highly for any high school student applying to (or community college student wishing to transfer to) an art school or university with an art program.

An important note:

The Oct. 10 event hosted by Laguna College of Art will not be on LCAD's campus, but instead it will be in San Diego at this location:

Hilton San Diego Bayfront (http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/SANCCHH-Hilton-San-Diego-Bayfront-California/index.do) : 1 Park Boulevard, San Diego, California, United States 92101

I would definitely call ahead of time (either the hotel, or LCAD) several days in advance of Oct. 10 to confirm the location.
