Hi,

I am working on a personal project and wanted to use MR to render the internal structure of ice, I wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction?

here's one reference shot, although I think for my render the ice would be a little more clear.

The mia_material should be the way to go .

The basic setup would be a water shader with blurry refractions . One can add more texture to increase complexity . You can also model the small structure inside the ice if that is the needed complexity .

Thanks for your time, pointers and links, they are very useful :) I am hoping to find a way to do the internal structure procedurally, as I suck at modeling. I may try and use fluids and see if I can get something workable.
