See the official announcement at ZBrushCentral (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=089971).

I hope they bring back zmapper. I really missed it in 3.5.

I hope they bring back zmapper. I really missed it in 3.5.

The zmapper plugin functionality is integrated in zbrush 3.5 so there is really no need to bring anything "back"...

Great news! Really looking forward to the new release.

To be honest we already have a lot of tools for hard edge modeling in ZB 3.5. Have you checked out the planar brushes? Personally I'd like to see a painting toolset that can rival Mudbox. Paint layers with updated tools like clone stamp or drybrush would be great.

They had this release last april

Hopefully this time it's really coming out, would be nice to have a feature list now though.

If you say so. I don't know any game artist that feel that way.

Exactly what features that were available with zmapper do you miss?

A lot more info was made available last night, including some preview movies and a gallery of beta images that were created and rendered entirely in ZBrush 4.0.

See here: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=090818

Also, ZBrush 4.0 pre-orders have now gone on sale at the Pixologic store for new customers, with a ZBrush 10th Anniversary Special Edition packaging.

To answer an earlier post, yes it's for sure this time. :)
