hi,

i´m setting up a scene with a completely white background. (rendering enviroment completely white)

in the scene is an object (dark color) that is on the "floor" and the floor should also be white.

i want the object to cast shadows on the white floor and also to be reflected on the floor

therefore i gave the floor a matte/shadow material, that receives shadows and also should be reflective. but when i render the scene only the shadows casted by the object are visible.
and the reflection is only seen in the shadow part.

when i darken the background color, the floor also gets more grey and the reflection can be seen on the floor.

but i need a completely white backgound+floor.

so guys, any tips how to fix this problem?

its important! ;)

thx in advance!

Just a quick idea:

Use a 100% reflective shader for the floor, that way, you'll have the reflection you'll need. And render out the reflection component of the image with a pass. This way, you'll be able to composite your needed reflection on top of the matte/shadow shaded floored render. (Also you may need to extract the part of the reflection pass from the composition where it's visible in the shadowed area, but this extraction can be done with a shadow pass...)
