View Full Version : Smoothness distortion
Poynter 09-22-2003, 02:35 PM I've got a mesh smoothed using MeshSmooth and I'm now trying to texture it. I've applied an Unwrap UVW-modifier (under MeshSmooth in the stack). Without MeshSmooth everything is looking good but, when MeshSmooth is added, the map get distorted. Apparently the Smoothness-function (set to 1 in my case) stretches the texture, but only in places where I've used Bevel or similar. Is there a easy way around this?
My teacher has no idea...
thanks!

You might try using Smoothing Groups to get a hard crease there. When the Smoothing Groups method is turned on in MeshSmooth, it won't pull the UVs as much. But of course you have to want a hard edge there in the first place.
You could also just edit the UVs after MeshSmooth.
