Myzlo 07-06-2010, 11:35 PM For this challenge I will be doing a full breakdown, preferably with voice over work to explain what the flamethrower is doing. More to come.

Welcome and have fun! glad I am not alone with my forensic simulation. Yes, voice narration is definetly a must to raise the coolness factor and support the visuals of course. Should be on the list for a forensic sim.

This is the modeling done so far.
Flamethrower by me.

And these are some quick simulations I did, more so playing with the smoke then anything else.
Made the fire blue so they're easier to see.

Just some quick simulation tests. Still lots of work to be done.

So here is another simulation, still playing with the smoke. The fuel is butane in this simulation, meaning there is a minimum amount of smoke being emitted just from the fuel itself.

And here is a VERY rough cut of the camera movement and basic timing of the breakdown shot.

SIGGRAPH has me destroyed so lets see what I can MacGyver out of my energy reserves.
Here is the initial shot breakdown of the flamethrower:

Here is another fire sim, still working on camera angle. Wish I had more ram, tapping out on simulations at the moment.

Good job man....the fire sim looks good, maybe a bit too yellow but the speed and motion is nice.

Thanks ivanisavich! Ya, for my first FX Wars I'm gonna take what I learned about time management with these challenges and manage my time better for the next one. Looking forward to participating.
