I actually learned something from this model.... to make something look more realistic, you gotta do straight box modeling.... NOT nurbs modeling.... i WAS going for the cartoon efect at first... but started to want a more realistic look... but thats pretty hard with nurbs..... Any tips or ideas on what to do to the car....

interesting idea.. your design is going out of reality,and that's really great thing.. i'm curious for final result.. what a pity,you're not using NURBS.. but.. we'll see.. don't forget to small details man;).. good luck..

i AM using nurbs modeling.... i think Thats the problem though with the model... its harder to do little details i find... cause everything is all rounded instead of squared... ive got a new update coming soon though....

are you kidding? .. NURBS gives you the best control of little details and it's the easiest way to do as many highdetailed features as you want.. but,hurry up with your update, i'm curious, what's better,what's upgraded,what's new;)..

SMALLLLLLLLLLL update..... just mainly wanted to post a reply to the nurbs comment... i just wanted to say that i dont like nurb modeling cause its harder to make stuff squary without making the model "dirty" dont know... maybe im just doing something wrong... but heres some updated pics... mainly just adding on a body kit and some lights......

Anyone have any ideas on how to do the doors? im thinking lambo style, cause normal syyle wont work with the way the cockpit is... but im not sure... the Mclaren F1 has some pretty cool doors.... ill probably attempt to tackle that tommorow.. who knows though, its back to work for me at 9am.....

hm.. what about doors in new mercedesSLR style?.. opening up and rotating to side.. and.. in your case with front glasses of course.. it'll be looking good,IMHO.. opening them near the middle of the car.. to both sides.. (.. if you're doing your own design,things like doors must be invented before you started with modeling;) .. but,that's small advice to the future;).. yeah.don't forget to next updates,i'll be here for a few words;)..

rendered pics were better;).. your video isn't in good quality,but nevermind.. yeah,ideas.. so,as i told you about the doors.. i don't know whats next to do yet.. you've got a much time,so you don't need to hurry up with this.. make some details (for hardcore fun you can create aerodynamic tunnel in maya;););) .. but,first thing to do are doors..

Doors should have been considering in the design phase on paper before you started modeling. Perhaps scaling the two cockpits out on x-axis to allow them to meet with the frame of the car will allow you to add doors. The other concern is that if you have a typical car door, will the s-like curve that you have put in the sides of the car, conclict with it opening cleanly. The hinges might need to be in a weird position for it to work.

Wheel base from front to back is way to long and you have some geometry issues around the rear spoiler and around the front grills.

Other then that, it has real potential. Iron out some design flaws, finalize some geo and I think you've have something real unique to showcase.
