I'm trying to make a good gold material, seems easy but it is not, at least for me. So here few tests with the shader I came up so far.
Don't pay attention to the model since it's a quick jewelry looking stuff.

Any suggestion, how to improve it etc.

I use 3ds Max 5 and brazil, but I have, hopefully, acces to some machines with vray and finalRender, so directions for all those render engines are welcome.

By the way, the images are rendered with brazil.

I think these last 2 images are close to a believable gold, wat doya think guys, and girls?

The last picture looks absolutely great. It looks expensive. If only you shared what you've done so far... :sad:
