Thanks for the artical Roberto.
You stated,"I try to let the process be automatic, avoiding stopping too often to THINK..."
On my next painting I'm going to try this out because as I am working on my current character concept I notice how my constant pauses to look at the progress and think of how everything is going, I am taking WAY too long to finish it. I've never acually blocked a painting out. I'm always getting caught up in details.

I am happy you guys like it!
Thanks again to all of you for the kind words and a special thanks to Leo for publishing my article.
P.S I will have a new tutorial (moneky VS robot) up on my website in th next few weeks.
Bryan: It is great to hear you find my tutorial useful. It makes me want to write more :)
cgjie: I will do a ste-by-step walkthrough of some new piece soon. It will show the progression over at least 20 images.
mage111: I wish I had more stuff to show, but a lot of my latest work has to be under wraps until published ;)

Wow thank you very much.. I found your comments in the tutorial VERY insightful! When you talk about how you believe you should not focus on what you are drawing and think and analyze, but instead let the creative imagination drive the pencil. Don't focus on details until the shapes and overall silhouette are clear.
For me its very similar.
I kind of have to just throw down some lines to represent a single shape that I see for a second in my mind.. then proceed to add lines for more individual shapes.
If I think of a shape I will try to draw it super fast taking only 1 or 2 seconds, but going through idea's without pause allows me to produce interesting images fast. The final image is never what I expected when I start, but usually pretty neat non the less.
Whenever I try and think of an image and recreate it on paper I fail if I do not take the above steps.
