The timeline is more or less of 1,5 years. I hope R9 will be out next spring/summer but who knows. Nobody still knows what we'll have in R9, i really hope ngons will be part of C4D. Maxon is smart enough to understand people want them in the package.

Let's just hope that Maxon also understands that n-gons are a poor second cousin to the need to improve animation capabilities.

I should specify agree in terms of that statement, we are known to disagree quite a bit. ;)

Rereading it sounds like agree all the time  what would life be without a little disagreement

who konw maybe maxon will surprise us all (as usual) and meet some of both demands (well all in case of ngons as its hard to partially realize them unless your names newtek.)

I didn't read it that way.

"what would life be without a little disagreement"

Disagreement is the foundation of choice! :)

Agreed. I wouldn't want a newtek like solution.

ohh come on you guys don't you want half a full animation set and half n-gons?

I mean heck your work would be better (by half)

don't believe it third eye actually spends most of his time posing for swim shoot shots that sanicock then sells to Cgtalkers.

You see them given out everyonce in while.

Howeve do to low demand I think they eventually stopped publishing.

I think the next release will be pronounced after LW8 and Max 6 appears. I think it will be issued around this year's fall, or shortly after.

Yes, probable, and it will be another point release, don't forget Maxon usually releases 3 point versions before the introduction of a new generation software.

As shrek said formerly it is not a law to issue 3.updates before the big release

True, but I doubt maxon would be able to have a full version available in the fall, I mean they just released 8.2 and BP2 a month ago or so.

I think Maxon will not harry with a bugged next version, but I think they had 1.5 years to evovlve C4D.
I have some friends who are programmers at firms.
They say they retain some functions, for 'we need to have something to issue in the future'.
I think Maxon has already done the core, but financially the time has not yet come.
