hmm I would just take the edges from the helmet and then point/egde model them down.

It couldn't be that hard with enough tweaking.

But WHAT on EARTH is up with that helmet.

I am glad its not me wearin it lol.

I think the face shield is a case for LoftNURBS. Make one of the
outer edges and the middle edge which will be the center of
symmetry (use splines). Throw both splines into a LoftNURBS
and then the LoftNURBS into a Symmetry object. Now copy-paste
one of the splines rotate and move it until you come closer
to the desired shape. Move the spline point do shape it exactly.
Add more spline and shape them until you get a good result.

hope this helps

if you have more questions I can make some screenshots

cheers, Bob

PS. that is a crazy helmet

thanks for writting

bobtronic: i have tried it the way you said but no luck i kant keep the points straight.. if you could do a few screen grabs that would b e cool

flingster: yes that a battle of the planets helmet or gatchaman as its also referred

JIII its ugly i know and somehow i guess growing up watching gatchaman it brings back alot of cool memories

Here are some screenshots. Its a bit different approach
than my previous post. The hierachy looks like this:
Symmetry->LoftNURBS->splines

Its only a raw model to give you some ideas.

me would not use loftNURBS for this cause of the enormous amount if polygons it could produce. take an plane primitive, convert it and move the point the way to fit the form. selcet all poygon's (ctrl+a) and just extrude them with an offset maybe 0.3 for having thickness.

ok ok that makes a bit more sence i was doing my splines the other way around from the side view this makes more sence i will try it

here is what i have so far.. the curve is killing me but ill get it
