View Full Version : partcles moving objects
paulselhi 09-20-2003, 10:39 AM does anyone know how to set up an event such that emitted particles strike an object and cause it to move ?
i can see how you do this with dynamics but i can't see how to get a particle stream into the solver
i guess there must be a TP trick, do i have to make the target a single particle and use interparticle collisions, if so how would i do this ?
Any sugesstions ?

hi, make the object you want the other particles to colide with a particle itself then make it really heavy :) that should do the trick

Thanks that is just what i am trying and it sort of works, however the box which is being hit by spheres reacts to the first one and carrys on at a steady spwwd just ahead of the others, it is to uniform
i want to add this to the water scene ( made with paticles) so i want the box to be knocked around
i will experiment some more

ok here is the setup
2 tp emitters one is a cube set to 1 cube emitted zero speed, the second emits spheres which impact on the cube and the first impact sends it of at constant speed, no other spheres ever reach it
i added a pmass node in the cubes tp xpresso and set the pstorm out to the pmass in, and cranked the mass up a lot, but no effect
any ideas what i am doing wrong ?
