ok so i was following the human eye modelling and texturing tutorials on this wonderful site.

http://www.antropus.com/english/home1.htm

in the human eye modelling tutorial it gets to the part where you texture the eye, he says "For the other piece, modeled last, use the texture that you made using my other tutorial and a very low especular level and very "open" highlight (almost opaque). Use planar/frontal map for this texture:" USE PLANAR/FRONTAL MAP FOR THIS TEXTURE. i only have about a month of experience with maya and the better part of it was spent learning the basics, but i do not know how to achieve the planar/frontal map of my eye. seeing as he didn't post his connection editor or how he even made the connections, i dont know what method to use. i am asking if anyone could tell me what i would have to do and how i would be able to import an image into my planar/frontal map, because i can't figure out how to do that either. i had been successful with connecting the image file to my shader node, but when it connected i got a wierd result and the eye texture was distributed and repeated randomly around the eye model, instead of once mapped frontally. i can't figure out how to change it and the book im using doesn't offer much information on it. it mentions image nodes which i can't find. and it just tells you to load up the image files which i dont know how to do.

please help!

i know im a newb but any help is greatly appreciated thank you for your time
