View Full Version : Brush & technique for painting leaves?

Hey guys, I've always been impressed by forest scenery like:

Often I can tell that a certain brush was used with various PS dynamic settings such as:

But as for the first link, it almost seems like each leaf is individually painted, I'm sure there are techniques that's commonly adopted to achieve similar results, so I'm really curious to know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It's all about customizing your brush settings in PS via scatter, spacing, rotation, size, and you can even randomize the color and opacity too. I go into massive detail on this exact subject in week five of my workshop (see my signature at the bottom), where we explore nothing but line quality and brushwork for an entire week, and with about 15 video tutorials on those subjects, demonstrating exactly how to setup brushes to perform various tasks and how to paint with them. I'm likely to run the workshop again in October, so if you're interested, keep an eye out because the class fills up very quickly.
