Hey guys! I'm new to Maya and Motionbuilder and I'm trying to get a character I made over to Maya so I can apply some motion capture to it

I actually made the model in Lightwave and have since switched to Maya - but I have the model imported into Maya and it looks fine...

I also put the joints in in Maya... I've tried both applying the FBIK (which seems to work fine for animating in Maya) and also just the joints/bones - but either time when I export FBX and open that in Motion Builder I get what you see in the picture :(

any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

If you just create a skeleton, add an FBIK and export that as an FBX with no model, do you still get the same result?

Actually I got it worked out, thanks though!

Basically I deleted all the joints and FBIK stuff and redid all the joints - not adding the FBIK this time and it worked so I don't know if it was the FBIK or (probably) something else I did that was wrong :)

another problem I ran into was after I characterized and applied some BVH data to my model - the arms crossed - so I thought I'd post here the solution to that as well

you have to model your guy in the standard T pose - if not it messes up bad :)
