Yeah, I'm not sure why they are so skeptical. I'll point them to this thread!!! :D

anim tests probably won't be available until after LOTR is finished & I get a chance to sleep.. right now I'm focusing on getting the general pipeline built & moving, and then I'll take one of the models I've got & get the pipeline for characters workin.. so there will probably be a few render & anim tests durring that phase.

wheehaw, should be fun! :)

Actually, I think Jason is more famous around here for the excellent Maya training DVDs he's done than for being Anim lead at WETA. :p Maybe that's just in my mind. Anyways, Jason is a very talented individual and an overall cool guy from what I've seen, so check his site out.

Cheers,

I think we're all pretty honoured to have Jason among us. Some days it makes me feel quite emotional.

Brilliant sketches mate! really looking forward to this one. I loved the balloon dog animation of yours (as did my parents & friends when I showed it)! Consider this as a small gift, hope you like it:

Sweet Lord!

Forget what Jason has given this community - he has just made me aware of wilwheaton.net... It's so wrong, and yet so right.

:surprised

Jason - you could kill puppies. In a bag. With a hammer - but this link forgives you all sin/evil/puppicide.

From the bottom of my heart,
Thankyou!

:D

I'm very glad you liked it! I have always been wondering how Tim Burtonish drawing style would work alongside David Fincher/Ridley Scott like lighting with camera angles from Terry Gilliam.. Monsters Inc. came fairly close in achieving that (the scaring exercise scene at the beginning of the film). I needed only one peek at your drawings and the image struck me that very instant! I think it's quite interesting "clash" of styles :)

Just noticed that I forgot to put the dog in...

AJ: puppies? in a sack? with a hammer? never.. too barbaric. I'd sit them down and force them to watch felicity. that'll learn 'em!

Timo: it's great! I'd love to see it with the dog :)

honestly, I can't wait to be able to do some work at home.. it'll be so nice to be able to enjoy the house for a change! :)

and, it'll be great to be able to talk about something other than the pipeline aspect of the short, as that's all I really have time for now.

speaking of which.. I just uploaded a couple of perl scripts to help out with directory structure creation.. check it out if you haven't already!
