View Full Version : Odd Cloning Issue

Hey all, this is my first time posting here, as I usually like to hash out my own problems, but this issue I'm having is beyond me...

I'm trying to create facial expressions for morphing. When I shift+click and drag to clone an object, the vertices become massively deformed. In this screen shot, I shift+click dragged the object to the left, cloned it, where it immediately shot back over top of the original object, save for a few vertices. I then dragged the cloned object slightly to the left again so you guys could see what I was looking at.

The original object currently has this modifier stack, from top to bottom:
Turbosmooth->Physique(For rigging of the body)->Symmetry->Edit Poly->Loft
The original object also has several objects linked to it and its biped rig.
If there is any other info you need to know about it I'll try my best to help.

here is the screenshot:

Thanks for any and all help, even if its something obvious and I end up looking moronic, I really appreciate it!

After another day of messing around with it I still wasn't able to fix it, but I was able to work around the problem, for anyone that has the misfortune of stumbling across the same issue... By adding bones to the lips and adding them as floating bones to the physique modifier, I was able to rig the face however I wanted without using morpher.

I would sugguest collapsing the symmetry modifier and/or getting rid of the other modifiers if that model is being used for morph targeting.... I'm an animation student right now and I have had that problem at least once before in the beginning. This usually sorted the problem ^^

Just so you know you will also have to remove the smoothing modifier if you are using one before you load the model into the morpher channel
