Hi, I'm getting high render time, and when I ran a render diagnostics I got this error:

If file1 is not a memory mappable file, use imf_copy to convert it to .map format, to improve the performance.

Wondering if anyone has experience with performing this conversion....

Thanks

ya, look in the Maya binary folder and it's there. If you're on OS X, I made a Service so you can just right click files in the Finder and do it from there, without having to use the command line:

Good work cgbeige. Very useful indeed. Thanks for posting! :)

For those wanting to run this, open up the scripts in Automater first and check if the path to the commands are comparable with your installs of Maya.

ah - right. updated the zip with a note. thanks. For anyone interested in my right click sips image conversion workflows, I'll be posting those later on my blog.

cgbeige, would you happen to know how to organize services already added to the RMB menu in Finder? I've got a couple I'd like to remove but am not sure how to go about this.
