Are there any good state schools that offer a decent animation degree? I'm more of a school-type person, but don't know of any good state schools in CA. Any ideas?

If by state school you mean a CSU, then you should check out SJSU. They have a pretty good backing by DreamWorks Animation (http://ir.dreamworksanimation.com/press-release-sub.html?id=1257866).

I'm very impressed with SJSU's Animation and Illustration department, and consequently, that is where I am planning to transfer once I'm finished with my AA in Digital Media from DVC. Are you currently enrolled at SJSU? I'm a bit concerned that I may have to do far more 2D animation than I really want to, considering I really just want to do 3D modelling.
