right now it just lookslike there no texture on it at all.. its supposed to just look like old metal with a little wear and tear. y does it look so lame?

Probably because it's all one colour. You need a specular map that show scrathces and matted areas, and preferably scratches on the colour map too. Also, more colour variations, not necessarily rust, but hue shifts. Should help. Maybe some reflections too? Where it's been rubbed blank :)

Btw, really cool model! :)

well I duno. I think I need to do some texture tutorials. but for now I think I`m just gonna leave it. also, would old metal be reflective? I guess it depends on how old it is. and if the sheen is gone.
anyhoo, -on to fabricshttp://graffx303.com/KONS_3d_sheeit/WIP2.jpg

smooth the normals on his jacket, or use a cartoon shader if u want that toony effect.... looks weird at the mo....
a sstrong spec map, and then use the bump map to push ridges and scratches out so they shine (expose spec)

tessalated:,

jackets finished, I just need to mirror the geometory, and I`ll do that and smooth the geometry when I texture it, but I`m not quite there yet. also if you look there is a bump map and a spec map. I just dont have them too extreme cause when I turn up thier values alot, it makes it look reaaly fake, kinda like a slimy piece of swamp goo. buuut I`m definately gonna use that strong spec map idea. right now I`m just using the bmp as the spec map., cause I`m lazeeee.

its cool your watching this thread. My gurl eats up alot of my time, so does my work and school. I got sick a week back so I had alot of freetime. Never fear I`ll get back to werk. I wanna texture al this stuff then give him a snazzy background, and some smoking eyes. :lightbulb :lightbulb :lightbulb
