this is really impressing. so I ll help you with a suggestion.

I am a contestant like you.
I asked in the faq section of the contest if this was actually a design contest.
what I meant was, is it the best illustration or the best design?

the answer was they will award the best image.

so I understand even if you design the best transport ever, you have to come up with a super nice illustration with composition, people and environment and etc around it. in my opinion, most of these studio renders in the contest are actually going to fail. because they lack the ambience, a composition or anything of that sort. some of them arent even showing the design clearly.

so my suggestion to you is carry your design forward and put it into a composition.

and they want that final illustration to be in the lines of syd mead.

200% correct... unfortunately more than half of the entries defy this point unintentionally!
