And while we're talking about MEL, what do I have to do (= where to put) if I want, i.e. modify the MEL script "exampleMEL.mel" located in Maya's script/AEtemplates folder? I know if you copy it to your maya/4.0/scripts folder somewhere, it will override it, but where to there?

doesnt really matter where you place the script. You just need to make sure to source it before running it. Every time you make a change to the script you will need to re source it.
A bit of a pain but thats how it is.

to source script you need to either type source <scriptname> or from the menu in the script editor

If you put the script in maya4.0/scripts or in the scripts directory above that ie. a directory in your path then you can just type source <script> without specifiying a path, else you will need to provide that actual path to the script.

I can´t execute it in MAYA 5.0, but in the url it says that it works in 5.0...
Anyone had execute it in MAYA 5.0 successfully?

The only firewall I have is the one on my router.
