(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/231691_1276225291/1024bound)With the modernization of the world around them, car collectors in 2050 have turned to retrofitting forgotten classics with the newest technology. This classic Buick in celebration of it's 100th anniversary, has been retrofitted with the latest anti-gravity technology pods, and a new cockpit with automated pilot controls and head up displays for navigation and information gathering. The original headlamp assembly has been removed and replaced with air ducts to cool the hyper-accelerator drives that provide forward/aft propulsion controls. Dual purpose forward running lights have been added for visual recognition during night ops, and reversible photovoltaic cells during the day to assist in charging the batteries for the anti-gravity drive. Advancements in photovoltaic cells has led to much smaller surface area requirements for practical use.
I wanted to portray a more retro style car after looking at my first image and studying some of syd mead's older material from his US Steel days. All painting was done with Photoshop CS4.
Hope you like. Good luck to all.
