Hey guys kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment. Im going back to college in september where ill be doing web design and graphic design as well as 3d modelling. The things is im quite interested in 3d modelling but with the course im doing ill be covering about 5-10 hours per week (class time) on modelling and id like to invest a bit more time then that.

For my birthday my parents said they'd get me a subscription to a site so i can study more in my own time. Instantly i thought of Gnomon simply because the quality of their work. However i realize that in many of their dvds they primarily use Maya. Ill be using 3d max in college. So im wondering if this would be worth my while. I also like Lynda.com but i just find the instructors kinda annoying. :surprised

On gnomon i can only find a handful of 3d max specific dvds and i dont want my parents spending good money on something not relevant to me. I know i could translate many of the skills from the maya dvds to 3d max but it seems like more hassle then its worth.

So i guess my question is whether Gnomon is still a viable option or if there are other sites that deal more specifically to 3d max?

Also im only beginning to draw so i would like a subscription to cover this topic too. I know gnomon does, which makes the decision harder again

digital tutors is definitely the place you will want. But their drawing section is rather limiting.

Cheers lads, im actually very excited to start studying with digital tutors. After looking at their content and the extent of programs they teach im very confident that ill learn allot from them. As for the whole drawing issue, im going to get the structure of man dvds then buy one or two gnomon drawing dvds. Thanks for the input guys.
