(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/391403_1275439772/1024bound)There is a concept description in the image, but I would like to add the fact that the Skylark was totally designed, modeled and rendered in AliasStudio.
The 3D digital renderings were combined and edited in Photoshop to achieve the final result.

Dear All,

Here goes what is written in the image:

The long skinny tube has to go, and it's really gone! The Skylark, a unique aircraft inspired by Syd Mead, has come to prove it and established a more silent, comfortable, greener and funnier way of flying. The owner and CEO of Sky Airlines stated that the "friendly skies" do not seem so nice anymore. Commercial aviation is so crowded that NASA is already researching ways to restructure air traffic on a point to point model using small regional airports and aircrafts as the Skylark, capable of helicopter-like takeoffs and then vertical shifting to propel forward, therefore avoiding the need for long runways. In addition to that, the Skylark upperbody is covered in flexible solar panels. So once charged with the sun's energy, batteries power the bird during takeoffs and charge all the instruments. Once aloft, the two sided large eletro-magnetic propellers run on hydrogen fuel cell units under body. Vertical takeoff and landing procedures are also assisted by a small hydrogen powered turbine system located under the bird's neck. The Skylark lucky passengers and crew members are granted a more spacious cabin, with wider rows, swanky amenities such as inflight lounges, viewing areas or seat-back virtual windows, and, of course, more leg room between seats. Last, but not least, a wide ramp type tailgate on the bird's rear end allows for practical baggage/cargo and catering loading. Despite all these amazing features, the Skylark has master Mead's vision of a new, bold and hopeful tomorrow.

Thank you,
Ungaro
