I am finding myself modeling a lot of stairs all over. Im sure there are a lot of plug ins for this around. Also, what is the quickest modeling method? I"ve been using edge extrude.

'Bout the only one I know of is:

http://www.cebas.com/us/stairmax.htm

But it costs about $150USD.

If no other alternative I think i'll have to make the investment. However, any tips for hand/modeling them for now?

there is also an extantion from DISCREET that turns max into viz ...
it gives you the total control AEC objects (trees ,stairs, windows ,doors) , just like in VIZ , but under MAX...
for the hand modeling .. just make one and then array them.. the easiest way.

yeah, arrays are very handy for stairs, especially spiral and whacky stairs. It would be much faster if you could preview the array before it builds it though. but yeah they're good.
