View Full Version : devil bust
hi folks
did this one a while back. what do you think? I was going for a chilled out look, not so much a scary menacing vibe. subdiv-maya

by the way, "technically" its not a bust.
There's a strange V shape at the very end of the nose.
That's all that I could come up with ... hehehehe
NICE MODEL!! I really like the eyes and mouth. Are you going to model the rest of him? Would love to see the rest!

wow man, really nice character design + execution, you really got that look you wanted - "chilled out"
this guy looks like a sympathetic devil indeed

Wow, great model and style.
Definitely sympathetic. I'd buy a used car from that man and sell him my soul. Kind of reminds me of eric roberts for some reason.
Anyway, awesome stuff. Wireframes would be nice :)

nice work man...love it!
wow thanks for all the feedback. Some really good observations.
MAXer3D: I guess he does have noble face. an uptown devil :)
Dmitry: Next post ill try to remember to put up a wire I like those two. But Im not on my workstation right now. I did this a while back. no Maya on this system :annoyed:
Ephesus: tangency problems? care to elaborate. and you caught my on the not quite bust thing.
hypercube: or perhaps a set of brand new speakers!! got one extra pair!
ambassador: Didn't have horns originally. but remember horns are a crowd pleaser ;)
JacobB: mild mannered corporate devil, heh, I think you nailed it.

tangency issues is just a fancy word for saying that your verticies are not lining up properly on either side of the face, and your getting a seam along the tip of the nose.

Impressive, clean modeling. The lips look perfect to me...
post some wires, please!
keep it up.
Ephesus: ok that tangency. Yes I know what you mean but thats probably not it. there are no duplicate verts down the seam its one solid edge. I think its due to the fact that at the tip of the nose I used tri-s to get that little bump at the end with a crease. so its just sloppy modeling :) maya subds don't like tri-s and n-sided polys that much. remember, tri-s baaad quads goood.
Frinsklen: sorry, like I told Dmitry Im not at my work station right now so I can't pull any screen shots of this sucker right now next post I'll defiantly have some wireframes.
