what the freakin funk cant i get my perspective camera to rotate around the object i have selected? i used to do it. what happened? i'm confused. so now if i select and object and hit 'f' it brings that object full screen but when i go to orbit it seems to orbit around the scene axis instead of the object axis.

if this has happened to you and you have some light you'd like to shine in my direction then shine away. thanks.

The camera rotate's around it's own axis.
To get the wanted result follow the following:
1- create an empty group or a locator
2- place it (snap tool/allign tools) at the position of the object
3- now select the camera then the empty group and Parent them (press P)

thanks for the reply. i figured out that if i select the "persp" camera and just freeze transformations it resets the rotation so that worked too.

thanks again.
