Im missing a Lightwave exporter for Octane renderer. So any coder out there, please visit refractive software and contact radiance. There already are exporter made by others for Autodesk 3Ds Max (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=27), Autodesk Maya (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=28), Autodesk Softimage XSI (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=29), Maxon Cinema 4D (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=30), Google Sketchup (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=31), Blender (http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=32). But I definitly miss Lightwave in the bunch!

Ooh btw... They are running a $49 special on octane this week.. So if your missing out on the coolest render engine out there, be sure to get a license before the week is out :)

Would be nice to get LW support but I think you should ask on spinquad forum. Here it's a bit deserted.

Mmmm I haven't visited spinquad in quite awhile. I'll better write a post there and in the newtek forum. Octane is nothing but amazing, and Lightwave users would definitly benefit from good pipeline being able to export animation.

It is pretty nice. even on my crappy old 256 meg geforce card it was pretty snazzy. One note its 40 Euroes - which equates to 61 US dollars (at the moment), and the deal ends June 4th (which I think with the time differences, is going to be about 12 hours too late for me since thats pay day here, so I Has A Sad! :(
A Direct LW exporter would be completely awesome, but it can import OBJ format objects so its def workable as it is now!
Head over there and snag the demo and the Demo and the content pack (since you can only load the test scenes in the demo) and check it out!

Yay Brother and Sister-in-law got it for me for my B-Day! Weeeeeeee!
Now if only i could get over this Machine ID poopoo and actually get it
working...... sigh......

I agree that a Lightwave plugin is needed. I use a workaround now though, via Blender. Lightwave -> import lwo in Blender -> use export to Octane script on Blender -> Octane Render

One thing I noticed though, all textures must be UV mapped. Planar, cubic, etc projections won't be read by Octane.
