Hi,

Iīm currently trying to track a needle to a plastic syringe in XSI and am finally done doing this manually. Far from perfect, but I guess itīll do.

When handled, the thing moves pretty much, the backplates are deinterlaced already.

Now, in XSI the object is almost in place, but when moving, the motionblur is kinda off. Doesnīt exactly hit the frame, the centerpiece of the blurred object is at the wrong location (half a frame or so earlier).

Is there a way to ANIMATE the sample time so it matches the backplate ? I mean how can I specify WHEN in a frame the shutter is wide open ??? I know the sub-frame-animation is not that sought after, and probably I better go and beg for interlaced footage, but perhaps you can help me out here...

Thanks in advance.

Applaying fake motion blur usually helps. If one has to compose rendered sequence with shooted material, and 3d motion blur doesn't match, it's a waste of time to buzzing around with the shutter settings. Try some value, then forget. Go to 2d.

Of course, there are certain cases, when the only accepteble way is 3d, or 2d combined with 3d, but time is always a limited stuff.
