View Full Version : Zbrush Uv hard edge and soft edge problems

Hello, I am new to Zbrush. i m having problem with UV in zbrush 3.5.
what happend is, i export my model with uv from maya to zb with obj. After i import in zb, i went to click auto group with uv in (polygroup) then i sepereate my models in subtool to get my individual pieces models. i click Divide in gemotry... then my UV start smoothing on edges... :(
i want my UV to stay same when i divide it.
is there anyway to fix this problems....in zbrush 3.5?

They cant stay the same because zb is showing you the uvs of the divided mesh. If the uvs stayed the same you would get all sorts of weird things going on when painting. Subdivision with smt on will also change your mesh due to shrinkage as well.

sigh... i dont even know where to start to talk about displacement map problems =.=' .... i ve been researching and looking all forums n video tutorial for zb 3.5 to maya displace, like a week from now on =.=''' , i follow all the steps, and the problems is 3.5 doesnt have zmapper, so i export my displacement map regularly and my model in maya still look blowout =.=' i donno how to fix it anymore... i try fixing alpha offset and gain still blowout =.='
can anyone please help me out with how to export displacement map from zbrush 3.5 to maya ?? i would love to follow your """""steps"""""" =.='

hi again, thanks that helps alot ... and got new problems =.='
my displacement map is working... but my uv edge is appear when i render with displacement map. i donno how to fix that... :(
