View Full Version : Generate Waveform for Parent Composition's Audio

Hi everyone!

I'm doing a job that calls for an audio waveform of a speaking voice, but in order to work the waveform would need to be in a nested composition. Is there a way to make the waveform read the audio of the parent comp, or do I have to duplicate the sound layer into the appropriate comp and risk an echo?

Unless i'm misunderstanding the problem, isn't it possible to uncheck one of the audio switches or lower the volume to -48dB? I don't recall if the effect you're using requires it to be audible to work.

You could also add a stereo mixer after the effect and set the Left and Right levels to 0.00%

Actually, my mistake. Turns out just turning the layer off works fine
