Since I'm new as hell to this poly uv mapping gig, can somebody tell me which of these two is the better uv snapshot to get into photoshop for texturing? The one with only 3 sides is the one I did, the other in a bunch of pieces is done by the auto uv feature. Oblivously, the 3 sided one seems easier, but I figured I'd ask a dumbass question like this rather than waste time. By the way this is just a simple low poly trash can. I figured I'd start easy.

i think it really depends on yourself and your way of painting. what i would recommend is to have a less pieces as possible. then painting the edges is more easy. if you you so much several pieces painting the edges without any seem could be really hard.

but i'm not the poly-UV Man here :hmm: . for me my first test this week ever with creating UV's for a poly-subd head was nightmare and i dreaming bad since this :). so maybe someone else can explain this better.
