looks fine to me...
whats the problem..?

those artefacts on the forehead.?
thinks in this area is the geometry to close together maybe the lowres is to low...
try a different search distance or clean it up in PS...

hmm i mean as in after i import back into max as a normal map. it gives mi a distorted mesh as like the second image on the top right whereas what i sculpt in mudbox looks pretty smooth.

thanks for replying

is this on the left side your highest level in mud..?
are you generating a normalmap in mudbox with the max preset..?

hi thanks ! i solved the flipped UV . stupid me. thanks .

but somehow the normal map isnt as smooth as the one at lvl 3 sub D in mudbox. is that always the case? the detail area also isnt as pumped out as in the mudbox no matter how high i put the setting for the normal map. is it normal?
also for the left eye brow area is also curved in in the normal map while it is suppose to curved out in the mudbox mesh.

thanks thanks

try to use automatic uvs... if there are no artefacts your current uvs are bad...
