Hello, I wanna learn Depth of field in after effects. Which tutorial do you recommend?
Also what is better way, to make dof directly in 3d application or in after effects?

thank you

In After Effects it's faster. Using the right plugins you can even generate bokeh effects. If you don't need that, use compound blur with the z-depth pass as a mask.

There's a link to a good tutorial from Dave Scotland at the bottom of the "Depth Of Field effect" page (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/aftereffects/cs/using/WS3878526689cb91655866c1103a9d3c597-7bd5a.html).

There's a basic explanation and links to some additional resources here: "Camera settings" (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/aftereffects/cs/using/WSFB9F1FBD-7A3E-4770-93DB-5A6DF63AB597a.html)

For general questions like this, I recommend using the After Effects Community Help search. Try this search for 'depth of field' (http://community.adobe.com/help/search.html?q=depth+of+field&l=aftereffects_product_adobelr).
