I've done a short walk cycle of a dinosaur, but I can't seem to prevent the calf muscle from going through the thigh muscle. Is there anything, short of moving points around and making one or both of those areas smaller, that you guys (animators) do to prevent this from occurring? I'm sure if your characters are musclular or very fat you would have this problem in a big way.

Thanks in advance...

there is usually quite a lot about this in the help of your software (manual or online help).

Well, it's not really a software issue, I think it's more of a technical issue. How do people do it in various software? I'm sure I can replicate it in Cinema 4D (which is what I use) if I had to.

the manual will tell you, look under skinning/rigging

In 3ds Max you can create morf targets for the joints, controling each movement in detail. See if there´s something like that on C4d. And remember: "use the help(F1) luke".
