Thanks neversong, DOF is a funny thing, some people hate it, some people love it. I was iffy myself but decided to keep it. Hmmm....thanks again! -- 3d_e

close to dead on!

Great work. If I'd change anything I'd tone down the specular on the little orange peppers, the be way to shiny.

other then that you get a "A"

The color seems a little too constant on the red peppers and green ones for it to be totally believable. Perhaps you could add some discoloration on some areas?

Other than that its really great

Yes,the DOF is over done and I will tell you why.
It has no focus.
There generally is an area that is in focus, the other background items or backdrop is usually out of focus.
So here in this render you are asking the viewer to look at these items but in such manner that part of them are beyond our focus.
Which doesnt make any sense.
We are looking at the items but our eyes are saying that part of them which we cant focus on would in normal circumstances be in focus.
If you wanted to show depth in this scene then maybe moving the glass backwards from the camera and then making it and the rest of the table out of focus would seem closer to real.
I can look and keep these items in focus as they sit so moving the glass out range of the central items, the peppers, then the dof would work.
Yes I agree also that they do look rather plastic and a little roughing up is in order but this is a cool scene anyways.

Au revoir!

Many reservations about posting this again in the Finished work gallery, but when I posted it the first time, I thought it was finished. I hope you will see some improvements. Anyway, here is the latest version, thanks for all the suggestions. -- 3d_e

very hot one! ;)

but I think the yellow one looks like a plastic you need to lower the specular littel bit.....

overall nice one....

Thank you very much guys. I agree, Alom, about the yellow pepper. I am experimenting with SSS as I type this. I hate to post another update to this "finished" piece but I think I probably will. Thanks to all again! -- 3d_e
