CGTalk - Belt poly tool?

Does anybody know whether there an is alternative/successor to the Belt Polygon tool that was a part of Aquarius's "Select Plus" plugin?
Unfortunately this very useful tool is incompatible with r8...

I have no idea, but as a workaround - if you need to select belt polygons (if that's not it, disregard this description)::

Edgemode - select one edge
Select Edge ring
Grow selection once
Using CTS: switch to polygons
Hey presto!

it looks like mesh surgery is going to have something similar or better (there's a recent thread previewing this plug--maybe someone in the know can comment). i sure hope so. right now i use JamesMK's method, except i use CTS:switch to points instead of growing the selection.

Yep, Measure Surgery has an awesome, interactive belt polygon tool, as well as interactive edge loop and point loop tools.

Sorry for my english.

My old version ( 0.92) Select Plus is always compatible with R8.1, and the Belt tool work very well.
A friend of mine had the same probleme of you, I send a mail with the old plug... Did you want too ???
