i'm working with a 17" and a 19" monitor, win 2000.as they are not the same size couldn`t maximize painter 7 to fill both monitors.

is there a possibility to drag palettes out of the workspace in painter 8? for me this is so handy in ps, i have one full monitor just for my artwork.

thanks

The only way I've found to do it was using nvidias dual display settings rather than letting windows handle it. Depending on your driver set it may be defined differently but they have a horiztonal span option. This though will then cause applications to maximize across both screens rather then just one. But again depending on your drivers set nvidia can will add another button on the right of the window (minimize, maximize, close) which then gives you a maximize across one screen or maximize across two. Anyways if you have painter maximized across both screens you can then have you art maxed on one and all your pallets on the other.
Unfortunately I hate doing this. Heh. I'd rather have windows handle it than nvidia, it seems to be better on resources. So if anyones found a way to do this, or if it's not an option in Painter 9. Let me know.

unfortunately you can't drag the palettes outside of the main window. :(((((((((
The only way of using painter on two monitors is to extend the main window over both screens.

I have Painter 8 working on a Windows XP machine with two monitors (different sizes).
You just have to resize manually the Painter window extending it to the other monitor. Then you just have to re-arrange al the pallettes in one monitor and maximize (also manually) your file in the other one.

I have two monitors on my Mac G4 both set to different resolutions.

I can drag any palette from one screen to the other.

Yet another reason to get a mac! Why I'm still using this PC is beyond me...

Anyways, this is all for Painter 8, I just recently acquired the new Painter 9 and am curious if they've added the ability to drag palettes to another screen? Using photoshop with 3 monitors is so efficient for me! I got my palettes on my left monitor, a complete screen dedicated to my art in the center, and my reference on a monitor to my right. It can't get any better than that! Now if I could get this on Painter, well life would be grand then...
