Hi, Looking for some feedback on my pieces. Both for making me and my portfolio better.
Will start with some head sculpts, trying to get a unique look on them without being over the top.

Image 1 - Head sculpt, looking for feedback on the anatomy and tips and ideas on how to make it more unique/characteristic.

First head looks great to me. You might try giving him a less choir-boy haircut. If you want to spice him up more, try to think of a back story for his character. Where did he come from and where is he now? Is he a war veteran? Once you figure this out it will give you ideas for details to add.

For the second bust, I would not have guessed it's supposed to be Jack Nicholson. Please pose the head in the same angle as your reference pics and post both so I can give feedback.

On the girl, one thing that looks odd is her eyeballs are totally sunken into her brow. Normally there's an upper eyelid visible before curving up into the brow. Perhaps post a reference here too. You can also try adding more detail into the hair.

Thx stuh505.

First head: Yeah, I agree about the haircut. Will also do some sort of a story on my characters from now on.

Second: :(, thought it did resemble him a little. Used many references. I tried to find them, but with no success.

Third: Don't know what you meant here. I can clearly see a upper eyelid.
You are right about the hair, need too work on that part on all my models.
Oh, and didn't use any reference on her.

He is talking about the lack of an eyebrow curve, a furrow. She looks like she has no brow muscle. Its totally flat right now and thats not right.

Alrighty, looking forward to next version!

Well, find some new ones, and start working from them? I'm not sure how you can actually claim to be working from reference photos if you can't find them!!

It's only going to be detrimental for you to work on faces without reference photos at this point. All it will do is cause you to reinforce bad habits about what you think the face looks like rather than allowing you to see where your internal model of the face is inaccurate. Keep working from life until you get to the point where you can create photo real faces entirely from memory (in other words, probably never...you always have more to learn). That's my advice.

As for this particular piece, I'm talking about her upper eyelid looks like it is recessed into her skull. On any normal person the upper eyelid is visible. So from the eye, there is a dip inwards following the upper curve of the eyeball, and then a dip outwards for the brow.

Thx for taking the time for that explanation.
New sculpt:
This time the upper eyelid is hidden by the temporary eyelashes. Doing the hair right now, will post it later.
