View Full Version : Error message help
SockGardener 09-15-2003, 09:20 AM I left a long render render running over the weekend. Just got in this morning (Monday) to find it had stalled after a couple of hours with the error message
"The external renderer is calculating an image, do you want to stop it?".
I've been using Cinema for several years, but I've never seen this error message pop up for no reason? There were no apps running other than Cinema. Can anybody shed any light on this – seen this behaviour before?
cheers

Strange thing. Newer heard of it. When I render bigger images or movies in the Render Settings / Options I turn on "Log File", and trun of "Cencel if Texture Error".
What post effects where enabled?
And maybe the "external renderer" in you error message was a video compressor of some kind. There are many video compressors, but most of them contain serious bugs. That's why I render my videos as a series of still images. This can save your Cinema4D CDs to be trown out of the window. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. The render stalled about 3 hours in. Now I've had a chance to think about it, I'm wondering if the problem was caused by the unwelcome intervention of an over-zealous office cleaner giving my keyboard a good old seeing-to. Never mind, try again tonight (with the keyboard disconnected).

must have been such a thing cause this is tthe normal "error" message you see if you try to close the external image window/render window.
Disconnect the cable if this will help. And yes stupid self caused error(everybody made such mistakes):)))))

Loool... That could be the Cinema joke of the week. :D
